Coach profile
Hello. My name is Michi Sato. I am the founder and principal coach of Traditional Wu Taichi School "Taikyoku no Komichi."
After learning Taichi Quan in Japan (24 forms and Chen Style), I relocated to Singapore to start my own business. I encountered my master in 2014 and started learning Wu Style Taichi Quan.
Through group lessons as well as over 750 hours of private lessons, I learnt Taichi routines and Push Hand in quite some depth. My master conducted 9 rounds of corrections on my routines.
In 2019, I was assigned as a coach for group lessons. In 2020, I got my first private lesson student and provided a tailor-made syllabus based on the student's requirements.
One of my private lesson students suffered Parkinson's disease and could not move smoothly. Through continuous lessons of basic exercises, his walking improved a lot. This experience made me start thinking how I could help people to have a healthier life by learning Taichi Quan. Then, I came up with the school mission, "Let's train your mind and body to walk by your own legs till 100 years old".
Unlike many other Taichi instructors in Japan, I can teach both in Japanese and in English.
